The speaking events provide access to everyone from billionaire serial entrepreneurs to year-one startups, with everyone welcome and treated as a respected peer. No question is off limits, no problem is untouchable, and it’s heartening that regardless of the size, age or success of your businesses, we have similar challenges to overcome, helping to stamp out the sense of isolation that can accompany entrepreneurship.

Working as an independent consultant can be lonely at times, but my membership of an Executive Roundtable provides me with a strong sense of belonging and inclusion. I benefit from having 10 heads around the table instead of one when dealing with issues and value hearing first-hand the key challenges facing businesses. It enables me to get a clearer picture of the state of play of business and the general concerns and optimism beyond what I’d get through my own clients and networks.

I have been to a few networking groups over the years. I must admit, I am not much of a fan. When I reflect on why, it comes down to this – a lack of authenticity. We were not there for each other, but we were there to promote our businesses. There was too much pressure to network, to win work, to refer work, and to be seen as competent and capable. The Executive Hub is unlike any other business group I have been to thus far. It is a group of business owners or leaders in businesses who meet monthly to support and learn from each other
